population of 19,279. The Bureau of Economic Analysis combines the city of Fredericksburg with neighboring Spotsylvania County for
statistical purposes. This city is a part of the Washington-Baltimore Metropolitan Area.

individuals and 12.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.09 and the average family
size is 2.81.
In the city the population is spread out with 17.8% under the age of 18, 23.8% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 18.4% from 45
to 64, and 12.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 30 years. For every 100 females there are 81.8 males. For every 100
females age 18 and over, there are 78.4 males.
