Focus on quality
The cheapest estimate or quote might not
be the best! Some, less qualified movers might
overlook belongings while estimating. In the end
your move might be more expensive then initially
estimated. Be sure that all your belongings are
carefully noted and calculated. Movers can’t
give accurate estimates over the phone.
Try not to underestimate what has to be moved
The more items you forget, the more you
will get charged after you have moved. Make a
list of all your belongings per room, that have
to be moved. Then make sure the movers come over
to your house to get weight-based estimates.
Possible extra charges for moving
Extra charges or additional transportation
charges can be made for long carries, stairs,
elevators, moving a car, or pianos, disconnecting
washers, dryers, gas stoves and shuttling (needing
multiple small trucks instead of 1 for narrow
streets).
