Louisiana. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of
10,489. Mandeville is located on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain,
across the lake from the city of New Orleans.
Mandeville was recently hit by
Katrina and has been moderately damaged. The lakefront is currently under
reconstruction as the storm surge from Lake Pontchartrain has extensively
damaged the Lakefront.

18 living with them, 50.6% are married couples living together, 10.8% have a
female householder with no husband present, and 35.2% are non-families. 29.8%
of all households are made up of individuals and 11.4% have someone living
alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.46 and
the average family size is 3.11.
In the city the population is spread out with 27.3% under the age of 18, 7.3%
from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 24.5% from 45 to 64, and 11.9% who are 65
years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 89.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 84.7 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $52,500, and the median
income for a family is $70,043. Males have a median income of $50,891 versus
