The town is located at the intersection of California State Route 12 and Route 26. It is registered as California Historical Landmark #251.

There are 960 households out of which 34.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.6% are married couples living together, 11.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 22.9% are non-families. 19.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.67 and the average family size is 3.02.

In the CDP the population is spread out with 27.2% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 25.4% from 45 to 64, and 15.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 96.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 93.1 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP is $43,125, and the median income for a family is $45,327. Males have a median income of $36,524 versus $29,861 for females.
